Formulation and Development Department
This department is fully equipped with modern instruments necessary for the development of various pharmaceutical dosage forms. The department is made up of a team of highly trained scientists specialized in designing and development of Natural cosmetics , Herbal medicines and nutraceuticals/ food supplements. All the development activities are carried out as per standard guidelines and under GMP conditions.The team ensures that the finished products pass through all the tests required to maintain quality of the products. The team also ensures that the finished products are stable throughout their shelf life. Packaging material selection is given utmost attention so that products can retain efficacy throughout their shelf life.

Analytical Department
Analytical department comprises of highly qualified and experienced scientists. They specialize in developing precise and specific analytical methods both for raw materials and finished products. Each herbal ingredient is subjected to various stringent tests before being used in the final product. The finished products are analyzed as per standard guidelines using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) and UV spectroscopy to ensure the presence and quantity of key compounds. The Analytical department also develops well-defined fingerprinting patterns using sophisticated instrumentation, which plays an important role in the quality control of complex herbal products. Analytical Department also conducts stability studies as per ICH guidelines.
Microbiology
Microbial contamination in herbal products is another rampant issue, bothering Ayurvedic industries. Due to its natural origin, herbs are usually contaminated with bacteria, fungus and pathogens and it takes a lot of effort and a suitable infrastructure to produce medicines devoid of such harmful contaminants.
The Microbiology department at VRC performs tests and develops suitable methods to identify microbial contamination in raw materials and products. Other major activities include developing in-vitro assay methods for anti-bacterial activity against different micro-organisms responsible for a disease, and conducting Preservative Efficacy Test for evaluating and optimizing the concentration and combination of preservatives in finished products.
Stability Test
All products undergo accelerated and real-time stability studies in order to determine their expiry date and these studies are in accordance to ICH guidelines and a set protocol. Every product is exposed to fixed temperature and humidity conditions in stability chambers and withdrawn at periodic intervals for analytical testing of specific parameters.
Accelerated condition : 40 + 20 C temp. and 75 + 5 % Relative humidity
Real time condition : 30 + 20 C temp. and 75 + 5 % Relative humidity
Based on the analytical results and degradation pattern, the product is assigned a shelf-life.
Clinical Study
Herbal products have always been regarded as safe for long-term use, and this belief can be regarded true to a great extent, due to their mention in ancient texts and it also being a proven age-old science.
However, with changing geographical scenario and to increase acceptance of Ayurvedic products globally, there is a need to generate scientific evidence regarding the clinical efficacy of these products.
collaborated with many Ayurvedic Hospitals, Colleges and Research Institutes all over India for performing toxicity and clinical studies of its products. Such studies have also been published in reputed National and International Journals.
Medical Services Department
This department consists of a team of learned and experienced doctors and is engaged in conceptualizing and designing Herbal medicines, food supplements/ nutraceuticals and cosmetic products. The department provides medical support for various products and product development processes. The department also provides medical support to the marketing department for preparation of various promo materials, LBLs and also provides training on various products to field force. It also provides support to regulatory department in preparation of dossier and handling queries.
This department also comprises of a team of doctors/ scientists specialized in conducting clinical studies on Herbal Cosmetics, Herbal medicines, Classical Ayurvedic Medicines and Food supplements/ Nutraceuticals. The clinical studies are conducted as per ICH GCP guidelines. The department also undertakes toxicity studies (OECD guidelines) and experimental studies.
Regulatory Department
Regulatory department is basically engaged in preparation of technical documents required for New Product permission & Drug Master File (DMF). We also provide technical support to International regulatory department.
